This Rose Gold Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Patek Philippe Ref# 5970R-001 Is Complete. Accompanied with original certificate of origin, second case back, setting pin and presentation box. The watch is in excellent condition and has very crisp and legible hallmarks.
The 5970R-001 perpetual chronograph manual-wind watch, features a 40 mm case. This is a rose gold example with silver dial and rose gold deployant buckle. Functions include hours, minutes, seconds, month, day, date, moon phase, perpetual calendar and chronograph.
The Ref 5970 was produced in 2005 replacing the smaller diameter ref.3970. Reverted to the case style of a square chronograph pusher with sculpted shoulder more reminiscent of the first series ref.2499. The 5970 in rose gold and in white gold were discontinued in 2007. In 2008 Patek Philippe released the much anticipated yellow gold 5970 then promptly discontinued the model after only 1 year with the release of the platinum version in 2009, the platinum version also being discontinued within a similar time period.The Patek Philippe Ref. 5970 was perhaps the most successful of recent models. With Philippe Stern stepping-down as president of the company in 2009, the same year the final, platinum version was launched, the model could be considered as his legacy to the success of Patek Philippe.
