Complete, Like New, 2017 Ref. 5170R-001
This Rare Patek Philippe Chronograph Ref. 5170R-010 Is Complete. Accompanied with its certificate of origin, instruction manual, swing tag and presentation box. This 5170R-001 is like new with crisp hallmarks and comes from the original owner.
The 5170R-001 Chronograph manual wind watch, features a 39.4 mm case. This is a rose gold case and silvery opaline dial with the very sought after raised breguet numerals and a rose gold deployant buckle. Functions include hours, minutes, seconds, 30 minute register and chronograph.
The 5170 was released with great in Basel 2010. It was the first mens wristwatch from the company to feature their own in-house designed and manufactured chronograph movement, Cal. CH 29-535 PS. The movement required five years to develop and although based on a traditional column wheel design featured six new patents. The case was very reminiscent of the vintage ref. 530 and smaller ref.130 chronographs that were themselves based on the classic Calatrava model. The 5170 was fitted with a silvered dial and the first production chronograph from the company to have a pulsations scale as standard.
The ref. 5170 replaced the ref. 5070 and differed from it considerably, most notably with the size of the ref. 5170 at 39.4 mm compared to the 5070s 42 mm. In addition, the ref. 5170 featured a new in-house caliber compared to the discontinued Lemania based caliber of its predecessor. The 5170R-001 was released in 2016 and is officially discontinued.
