Factory Service Sealed, 2024 Ref. 5970J-001
This Rare Yellow Gold Patek Philippe Ref. 5970J-001 Perpetual Calendar Chronograph is accompanied with its original certificate of origin dated 2009, factory service invoice dated 2024, service swing tag, Instruction manual, setting pin and presentation box. This example is in excellent condition with a recent 2024 service and is factory serviced sealed.
The 5970J-001 perpetual chronograph manual-wind watch, features a 40 mm case. This is a yellow gold example with silver dial, yellow gold deployant buckle and a new Patek Philippe brown crocodile strap. Functions include hours, minutes, seconds, month, day, date, moon phase, perpetual calendar and chronograph.
The Ref. 5970 was produced in 2005 replacing the smaller diameter ref. 3970. Reverted to the case style of a square chronograph pusher with sculpted shoulder more reminiscent of the first series ref. 2499. The 5970 in rose gold and in white gold were discontinued in 2007. In 2008 Patek Philippe released the much anticipated yellow gold 5970 then promptly discontinued the model after only 1 year with the release of the platinum version in 2009, the platinum version also being discontinued within a similar time period. The Patek Philippe Ref. 5970 was perhaps the most successful of recent models. With Philippe Stern stepping-down as president of the company in 2009, the same year the final, platinum version was launched, the model could be considered as his legacy to the success of Patek Philippe.
